Crazy Horses are great motivators!

I will say that since her first horsemanship clinic here at the ranch, Denise has made several trips from Louisiana to attend horsemanship clinics. She continues to improve her horsemanship skills, and although there have been a few setbacks she moves forward. When she shows up for a clinic she is ready and in full tilt learning mode, and it is always my pleasure to have her and Mac here at the ranch.

Crazy horse to Calm horse.

Comments from Denise: In May of 2013 I was asked by a friend if I would be interested in attending a training clinic with her. Of course being the “crazy horse lady” I was game for a new adventure. I didn’t know what to expect but never did I think that one of Keith Andries training clinics would change my life. We learned what groundwork really is and how important it is in order to have a safe, good mined, respectable horse. Keith took his time explaining and showing us his training techniques and answered all our questions. He taught us how to give leadership, direction and in turn receive trust and devotion. I was exhausted by the end of the day but walked away with not only a new understanding of horses but also of myself. Since then I have returned to work with Keith numerous times always learning more about horses, training, and myself. Each time Keith would take as much time as I needed to “grasp” the technique even though I know it was difficult for him and the horse I was working with.

It’s been almost year since my first clinic and I have since purchased a Paso Fino and feel more confident as a rider and horse owner. My husband has been with me at most of the clinics as an auditor and now is working on purchasing his own Paso Fino partner. Keith has always been there to work with me and my husband with training, questions or just general support whenever needed. We still have a long way to go and many things to learn but with the foundation Keith has given us we can truly have the ultimate dream of a perfect horse and rider relationship.
